The FIFA Women's World Cup heads to South America for the first time, with Brazil hosting in mid-2027. After the magic of 2023 on home soil, when the whole country stopped for a penalty shootout, the Matildas head over chasing the one trophy missing from the cabinet. Matches will land in Aussie night and early-morning time slots, so expect alarms, lounge-room watch parties and a lot of green and gold at 5am.
Whether you're kitting out the family for game day or buying for the biggest Tillies fan you know, here are the players to watch and the tees to back them.
Matildas Players to Watch at the 2027 World Cup
Final squad is picked closer to the tournament. These are the names fans will be backing.
Sam Kerr: Captain Marvel
Australia's all-time leading goalscorer and the face of women's football in this country. Brazil could be one of Kerr's last shots at a World Cup, and every fan wants to be wearing her number when she scores.
Caitlin Foord: Speed and Skill
Pace to burn and a knack for the big moment. Foord is the player who turns a half-chance into a goal, and she'll be key to cracking tight defences in Brazil.
Mary Fowler: The Playmaker
Calm on the ball and creative in the final third. Fowler has grown into one of the most important players in the squad, and Brazil could be her tournament.
Steph Catley: Leader at the Back
Composed, experienced and deadly from a set piece. Catley's leadership in defence will matter even more on the World Cup stage.
Kyra Cooney-Cross: Midfield Dynamo
Energy, vision and a left foot that only kicks bangers. KCC keeps the Matildas ticking in midfield and is only getting better.
Mackenzie Arnold: The Wall
The penalty-saving hero of 2023. If Brazil comes down to a shootout again, this is the tee you want on.
Hayley Raso: Wing Wizard
Direct, tireless and a proven World Cup goalscorer. Raso brings the chaos down the flank that opponents hate.
Amy Sayer: Rising Star
One of the most exciting young players in the setup. Get the tee now and say you backed her before everyone else did.
Team Spirit Tees for the Whole Crew
Not everyone wants to pick a favourite. These slogan tees are made for watch parties, the school run and 5am kick-offs.
